Greasing U-Joints?
Hi,
I recently had new u-joints replaced on my 97' f-150 4x4.
Iam having trouble getting my grease gun tip on the zerk fitting?
There isn't much room on these,is there a special grease gun tip for this???ThanksAlso how often should these be greased?

The special tip for your grease gun is like a 1/4" or so diameter rod with a tapered tip. You push the tapered tip into the little ball on the zerk fitting and grease away. You have to keep it straight and press firmly to keep it from leaking.
Have you tried to rotate the driveshaft? Most of the timme if you rotate it you can find a spot where it is wide enough to get a standard grease gun end in there.
I would think every 30,000 miles would be plenty.

Might be the way the fittings and/ or joints were installed when they were changed. Some times the joint and fitting has to be orientated a certain way to match-up with reliefs so the grease gun will clear.
