Talking Electical System is dead - Solved

it was the positive battery lead - completely disconnected. Apparently the bolts on the carriage constraint had worked loose...

Hi -
Last night I noticed that the radio on my car was cutting out very briefly. It was dark, but I didn't notice lights being affected. When I got to my driveway I left the car running a while to get a better sense what was happening - in fact the entire electrical system seemed involved. Then I turned off the ignition and noticed the locks did not perform their usual auto-unlock. I hit the remote, no response. Turned the keys in the ignition again - absolutely nothing.

If anyone can steer me in the right direction as to what's happened, and what needs fixing, I'd appreciate it.

Oh yeah: 1998 Mistubishi Montero Sport, approx. 120K miles

thanks much in advance

If I understand the post I think you need to test the battery and alternator before you go any further.

Davo, I think he edited his post at the beginning with the results of the repair. It's a little confusing.
