Unhappy fast idle

FI 16V

Removed IAC valve, cleaned, also removed and cleaned throttle body,
did not renew any of the gaskets as they look in good condition,
there was a rubber O-ring in the IAC, which was loose, put it back where i think it goes, anyhow still got high idle problem,
i know you dont really cover this vehicle but any help would be appreciated?

Look for vacuum leaks, low coolant level will make some cars idle faster than normal.Does the IAC valve move when it needs to(shutting off air).Look for a vacuum leak first.Spraying carb cleaner can help find leaks but be careful of fire hazards.

Look real hard for a vacuum leak or a leak in the snorkel tube into the throttle body. There are other more complicated things that can cause that such as temp or TPS sensors, but that's one easy thing to look for.
