98 caravan frt discbrakes

im having trouble,lining the caliper mounting bolts up seems to be a lot of tension&can get only one bolt in what can i be doing wrong? I seem to have the proper pads. thank you

The calipers on those have a little lug that has to go over the caliper bracket if you look close you will see what I mean.Also you need to keep the sliders held back from the bracket while installing the caliper.Tip: sometimes putting 2-3 lugnuts on finger tight to hold the rotor against the hub can be a blessing.

On my 99 Voyager, it was a common problem. Cheap pads would sound like they are grinding and squealing, just started to put middle of the road pads on and that cleared it up. These minis eat front brakes for lunch, so, keep the rears adjusted and that will help out the fronts.
