1996 Ford Ranger - check engine light

1996 Ford Ranger XLT 4cly, 5spd, 153K. The check engine light came on so I went to Auto Zone and had them run off the computer number codes. Here is what came back.

P1443 Mfg. Control Aux. Emissions Control
P0171 System Lean Bank 1

For the P0171 I went ahead and changed the fuel filter and ran some fuel ingection cleaner through - have not went back to see if this code is cleared - hopeful

Not sure about the P1443. Any suggestions what I may need to look at? Thanks for the help in advance.

You would likely not get a lean code from dirty injectors. Check for vacuum leaks first, then maybe low fuel pressure. I can't look up the P1443 right now but from memory I think that's an evap leak code, Check that your gas cap is tight. I'm not positive on the code definition on that one.
