Help on changing transmission fluid and filter

Okay, I have a 1986 Chevy 1/2 ton C10 pickup. 2WD, 6.2 litre diesel engine, 4 speed automatic transmission: The transmission fluid and filter definitely need to be replaced. I ran it too hard and the fluid smells a little. Anyway, I have dropped the pan and old filter. Is there any other place that I need to drain the fluid from prior to cleaning it up and putting it back together? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,

That's all you can do so put it back together add new fluid drive it a few miles and recheck the fluid level.

If it does not have one you might want to install a drain plug so you can easily change the fluid in the future. The torque converter holds about 3/4 of the fluid but you cannot drain it. If the fluid is dis-colored you can drive it a week or so and change it again, and keep repeating until you are happy with the color.
