'75 F350 Tranny Still Shifts Quick

Hello Everyone; I tried banging on the slip yoke, no change. The trans fluid looks normal, it does not look or smell burnt. On the vac. issue it has 20" at idle at the mod. valve, when you rev the eng. it drops to 14" then recovers quickly to 20", put trans in drive and vac. drops to 17" and holds. Where do I go from here, the press. check? If so where do I hook the gauge and what reading should I have? If it has low pressure what does this indicate and what is the remedy? Would changing the oil, screen, filter help this problem at all? Thanks.

I am not sure about Fords, and I dont have any info on something that far back, but if you have a vacuum modulator valve then you should be able to adjust it. Remove the vacuum line and shine a light up in the valve. If you see something that looks slotted then you can stick a small flat screwdriver in there and adjust the valve. Adjust it just a little and then drive. If it gets worse go the other way. If it gets better then you are on the right track.
Hope this is helpful to ya,
Billy

On that trans it's only kick-down and not throttle pressure. It can be left off with no ill effect except no kick-down.

Throttle pressure is controlled by the Mod.

That's a new one on me.

I thought all that old stuff used throttle pressure from the carb.

C-4 and C-6 are not like old GM and Mopar. Worked about 5 years for L&M dealer one or two C-4's or C-6's a week.
