hot rod runs poorly

I have a 1933 Chevy w/a 400sb in her, the problem I am having is when you floor it from a stop it dogs out like it isn't getting enough gas. This is all new parts on it:Elderbrok carb & intake, fuel filters, gas line, electric fuel pump, cam, timing gears, cap & rotor, plugs & wires. The timing is ok. Now could it be something electricial in the distributor, the distributor,or is the fuel pump not working right, when you drive her with some sense she drives great, but when you want to show off (95% of the time) it just dogs out. I am really fed up with it. Hope you guys can help!

What size carb is on it?Compression ratio, cam profile may help.It sounds to me that it's either over or under carbed. My bet would be over carbed.most folks think bigger is better not quite true with carbs.
