Need to install new water pump. How do I get the old one off? My car is a 1997 Pontiac Grand Am GT. The water pump has a leak and needs to be replaced. I have to continuously add water to the radiator. The engine is a 3.1, 6 cylinder.

You have a 3.1? They never made an easier water pump to change. Just remove the belt and the 4 bolts holding the pump on. That's it. The belt is held on by a spring loaded tensioner.
