98 Neon

2.0 automatic 65,000 miles No Spark Can the camshaft sensor cause no spark at plugs? Power at the center wire to coil while turning over. Camshaft sensor code read.

Its a pretty safe bet that you need to replace the cam sensor. First make sure the timing belt is on and in its proper orientation and then check the wires to make sure they are all intact.

Thanks Billy, That cam sensor did stop all fire to the plugs. 20 bucks and a half hour, good as new. I still don't know how to test those direct-ignition coils when outside the car. Almost replaced a perfectly good part. Thanks again, great site, got me on the road
