92 Chevy PU/350 Tranny growl at stop

I've got a K2500 PU with 151K on it, drive it maybe 5K/yr now. When stopped and in D or OD, it sounds like the transmission is kinda grinding / growling. Took it for an oil change today after 5 min warm up in park, drove 4 miles to Oil change place and it read low on tranny fluid, but fluid looked good. They put in one Pint of fluid (not sure how low it read), same sound.

Also, maybe related. Only when on hwy above 70mph, check engine light comes on initially for about 40 sec, then shuts off. comes back on about every 20 miles for 15-20 seconds.

Any ideas? Any help sincerely appreciated.

If you havent had the transmission serviced suggest starting there with a new filter and fluid and check for any leaks, as sometimes when the filter is getting partially clogged it can cause a whining noise.
as per your check engine light you would have to check codes in the computer for starters and post back the code number for more help you can check codes by jumpering your a and b terminal on the aldl connector located under drivers side dash and turning key on and count the check engine light flashes it will start by flashing code 12 three times as a systen check and then will flash any other codes stored in memory three times each and the cycle will repeat itself.
