Question oil filter question

Does anybody have any comments about GROUP 7,or GROUP w oil filters.
My mechanic uses this brand and i was just wondering if they are reliable
with so many brands on the market and some of the horror stories iv'e heard.

Thanks

The group 7's are the cheap line that purolator makes. Although they are not very high quality, they are pretty widely used by shops trying to keep costs down. For my personal car I would never use one but I wouldn't expect them to cause you any problems if changed frequently enough.

Ditto on Desi's comment. I worked for a lube franchise and they wouldnt even buy those filters because they are too cheap. The paper that the filter is made of breaks down and can get in your engine. Most people dont change their oil on time anyway so I wouldnt chance it myself. Go with a higher quality Fram, Wix or a real Purolator filter and change it every time you change your oil at 3000 miles.
