Air Conditioner Repair/Service

Hi,

Thank you very much for your help.

My younger sister owns a 1995 Buick Century (79,000 miles). Recently, the Air Conditioner began to put out less "cold" than it had previously. The fan(s) all seem to work fine. Most likely, does it just need more coolant?

What does an auto Air Conditioner service cost normally? Is it something someone can do by herself?

Thank you very much again )

Marylyn )

No, it's not something you can do yourself. It requires some specialty tools and uses presurized cans of freon that can be very dangerous. You likely have a leak and have lost some of your freon. Take it to a reputable A/C repair shop and let them do a diagnostic and leak check. This usually costs under $40. The repairs can be quite expensive though, depending what the problem is.
