Question 99 Pont. G.P. Knock sensor

I have a 99 Pontiac Grand Prix w/ 3.8L and auto trans. Recently Service Engine soon light came on. I scanned for codes and got a Power train code 0327. This is - Knock sensor1 circuit low input bank 1 or single sensor. I believe this car has 2 knock sensors. Will replacing the knock sensor fix the problem? If so which one and where is it located? Could something else be causing this code? Thanks in advance. Guy

Do you have an engine knock? If so get that checked out first. If not check the knock sensor wiring. Make sure it is not routed anywhere near the spark plug wires or ignition coils. Check resistance from the PCM and the knock sensor. Check for wiring harness routing and integrity. If all of this checks out replace the knock sensor. The knock sensor can make the car run very rough if it is not functioning properly. It can send a voltage signal to the PCM and the PCM will interpret it as a knock and retart the timing to reduce the possibility of engine damage.
The bank 1 knock sensor is located behind the starter.
hope this is helpful to ya,
Billy
