Fuel injection cleaning?
Recently I've been seeing a bunch of ads for fuel injection cleaning. Is there any real benefit to doing this/
On another topic my manual states changing the fuel filter when the car is cold. Does this really matter? If I drive the car on a ramp and then change the filter am I doing damage. 93 Buick Century 3.3

Fuel injection cleaning will help keep injectors clean and can prevent clogging in areas with low fuel quality. It also cleans the back of the valves and combustion chamber if done properly. You can change your fuel filter anytime it doesn't matter.Back it up on the ramps, turn the car off, pull the fuel pump fuse or connector, start the car and let it stall. That will relieve the fuel pressure and make the job safer.Replace the fuse when done.

A "proper" injector cleaning would be one that ACTUALLY connects to the fuel rails and runs independent of the vehicle gas tank.
To make it easy, just ask your mechanic if he uses the "MotorVac" style that hooks up to the fuel rail(s) or the "induction" type that only gets into the intake plenum.
What you want is the MotorVac type. The plenum type is just "snake oil".
