pitman arm

Im trying to change the pitman arm on my 92 dodge dakota p.u.I have both bolts off but it wont come off.Ive been using pitman arm puller but it wont budge.

Your going to need a real high grade puller because they're really on there. Try smacking the puller bolt right on the end with a good size hammer when you have full pressure on it.

use a mallet and a arm puller.. its a pain in the ass i did it on a cherokee.. u can also try a breaker bar

The mallet won't be any help if it's made of anything but steel. It's the sharp impact of the hammer that will help break it loose once the puller has enough tension. You really need to use an impact gun to get that puller tight enough. This isn't a job for for old carpenter's tools.
