Fuel filter

I have a '96 Chevy S-10 truck. Can a dirty fuel filter make the "Service Engine Soon" light come on? Is it easy to replace? Where is the fuel filter?

Yes a clogged filter can cause a check engine light but I really suggest getting the codes read and posting back with the numbers here.Autozone will read them for free if you have one nearby.

It's one of the hundreds of possibilities but not one of the more likely ones. Follow Davo's advice. Have them read.
