A/C drainage leaking onto floor carpet

Suddenly the passenger side carpet in my 1998 Olds Intrigue is soaked from the A/C. Is this fairly easily fixed by a non mechnical person? Thanks

You need to clean the drain on the outside of the firewall to prevent the problem. It will be on the passenger side of the car obviously with a rubber elbow usually. You can remove it and probe in the hole an inch with a wire but no further or you will damage the evaporator. If water pours out when you remove the elbow clean the elbow and reinstall.

Davo is right about the cause of the water. If you cannot un-clog it with a piece of wire then try to find a friend with an air compressor so blow air up the drain tube. If not then try a couple of repair shops. I do this about twice a month for people and dont charge them anything.

Good luck,
