'00 Cherokee disc brake problem

I am replacing the front disc brake pads & rotors on my 2000 Jeep Cherokee (6 cylinder - does not have antilock brakes). The right front went well, but the left front caliper will not collapse w/C-clamp method. I'm thinking there is a valve preventing but don't know how to release. Thanks for the help....

How badly were the brakes worn? My guess is you have either a bad caliper or flex hose on that side. Open the bleeder while trying to bottom the piston. If it still won't go, pick yourself up a caliper.
