Abs Light Stays On!!

I have a 1995 Chrysler Cirrus 6 cylinder
The ABS light came on and I then changed the brakes! But the light stays on!!
Can anyone suggest something I can do to get the light to go off?

Any and all advice welcome

Thank you in advance!!!!

That's because the light has absolutely nothing to do with worn brakes. Every time the key is cycled on, the ABS module goes through a self test. The problem is it is failing the test and the system has found a problem somewhere in the electronics of the ABS system. I assume you red "Brake light" is not on also. You need have have it scanned for codes and diagnosed. The light staying on means the system has been disabled by the module for the period of that key cycle.

I agree with Desi

Desi is right about the ABS light having nothing to do with the brake pads needing to be replaced. And I would recommend taking it to a professional to get it diagnosed. There is one check you can probably do yourself and that is making sure the ABS unit is full of fluid.

If it is low on fluid then you probably have a leak. But no matter what the problem....repairing ABS is usually expensive.
