power window
i have a 1987 ford suburban van.
the passenger side window stopped going up.
when i hit the button/ it runs and makes a jerking sound but the window won't go up.
i took the padding off the inside of the door. the window is in it's slot, the arm looks ok, but i can;t seem to see why it's not going up. when i push it manually with the motor going it goes up smooth, but comming down it jerks and then goes way fast.
how much roughly does a repair like this go for. am i doomed to not have this window operational for the life of the van?

ford suburban huh that is a new one.
if it is a ford and you do hear the motor running it may have stripped the plastic gear set inside the motor you would need to remove the window motor to inspect the gear set.
