replacing serpentine belt on 1991 grand prix se

Hello,
I"m looking for advice on how to change the serpentine belt ona 1991 Grand Prix SE. It has a 3.1 liter engine. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Rich

That one is about as easy as they come. There should be a small plastic guard mounted right above the water pump pulley with the routing diagram on it. If that is gone, just make sure you note the routing very closely, take a picture, or most parts houses can supply you with the diagram. The tensioner pulley should be directly above the crank shaft pulley, the arm of the tensioner has a 3/8" square drive in it. A 3/8 drive ratchet is the only tool required. If the tensioner has any in and out play, or or does not compress and release smoothly, replace it too.
