86 buick no start

my question is,i,m not getting gas to fuel injectors, no fuel at fuel filter which is under car drivers door. when i crank it no fuel seems to be pumping. sounds like fuel pump, but could it be a bad ign. module. 86 buick lesaber 231 type 3 most common,is there an easy way to tell or something else to jumpstart pump. my next step is to see if im getting sprk to coil. any short cuts to changing punp

Check out the fuel pump fuse and fuel pump relay first. On an '88 Buick they were in a box on the left inner front fender, near the strut tower.

Have you checked for spark and fuel pressure with a guage? If you spray starting fluid in the throttle body does it fire and die?If it does the pump is most likely shot. There is no easy way to change the pump, the tank has to come out.
