1998 Plymouth Neon Backup Lights

I am at a sticking point in trying to figure out what happen to my backup lights. They quit working about a month ago. First thing I did was replaced the bulbs, didn't help. I then replaced the switch on the transaxle, didn't help. I can't see any other obvious problems but I also don't want to spend 60+ dollars an hour for a mechanic to hunt down the problem either. Any suggestions as to what I might have overlooked?

Check all of your fuses. After you confirm they are ok remove the wire from the reverse switch and jump across it,check the lights if they are on you have a bad new switch or something is wrong in the tranaxle. If they don't light you need to start looking for a broken wire or bad ground somewhere.

Talking back ups

If worse comes to worst, you can always wire the lights to a toggle switch. Then you can turn them on ,and off as needed. It works great for tailgaters.
