Bleeding Power Steering Pump (Jeep Cherokee)
Hi All,
I am going to replace a power steering pump ona friends 96 Jeep Cherokee 4.0L. Could anyone help me on the basics of bleeding a power steering pump? I was told to install the pump, jack teh frt wheels off the ground, top off the new pump, and turn the wheels side to side about 20 times each. Does this sound correct? Is there anything else I should know?
Thanks,
Brian

That will do fairly well just start it up after you are done and cycle the steering a couple times then turn the car off and let it sit for about 5 minutes with the cap off the p/s pump and then topoff as needed.Your freind may get some noise for a couple days while all the air works out.
