1978 chevy heator core

i have a 1978 chevy 2wd cheyenne 1/2 ton trailering special with a 350/350T. Recently i have noticed that while driving the cab fills with steam and it smells like anti-freeze. The temp guage also seems to be getting higher than normal and i leave a puddle of anti-freeze under the truck when i park and it has time to cool off. I had a ford pu in the past and the problem then was a bad heater core, is that the same problem here? and if so how do i take this heater core out? under the hood? in the cab under the dash? please help.

Sounds like a heater core leaking to me.Unfortunatly my memory on changing one doesn't go back to 1978 but I think it's under the hood.
