Passenger side mirror replacement

I have a '97 Honda Civic DX that I knocked the passenger side mirror off of the other morning (don't laugh, it was 5 in the morning and I wasn't awake yet while backing out of my drive). Took it off clean without touching the side of the car. The mirror is manual remote. I have already purchased the replacement part and just want to verify that yes, I do have to take apart the side door panel in order to install the new one. My spidey sense tells me it's the only way to proceed, but I figured I'd check here first just in case I'm wrong and about to make a bigger mess than I've already got.

Most cars require door panel removal to access the mirror.I believe this is also true in your case.
