Importance of 15k mi. service
Hi,
I normally just get my 30k mi services done and skip the 15k service. Is this a very bad thing?? I alsways get my tires rotated every 5k mi. and my oil changed every 3k mi. What am I missing with the 15k mi. service??
Thanks,

Thanks for replying! I have a '97 Honda Accord EX with 110k miles. I got had my 90k service done, also got my timing belt, water pump, and drive belts done. I skipped the 105k service because I normally don't get the 15k services and I believe that is what the 105k service was. I see the 15k service as a check and refill of fluids, possibly a change of spark plugs, and a rotation of tires. Am I missing something??

I would say that you have a good plan. Regular oil changes and tire rotation are the most important. Checking belts and topping off fuilds at oil change time, along with a visual inspection of the engine for leaks, and the overall car for burned out bulbs, bad wipers, etc. should do it. The spark plugs should be changed every 30 - 50 K unless you have the new extra long life plugs. Keep up the good job.
