wiper motor 99 jetta
I recently bought a 99 jetta and the wiper mechanism that runs off the motor was locked up. The actual turning parts were jammed so I had to pound out the joints and relube them. When doing that I replaced the wiper motor also just to be safe. The 2nd motor I tried it before fully assembled and the motor reversed and now it wants to move down(the opposite way it should) I guess it reversed polarity. Well....I put a 3rd motor in and did not turn on the motor until fully assembled, but it still is in reverse polarity........I took it in and some mechanic said it is probably something electronical. I do not see why it would be electronical because the first motor went in the right direction, it was just all locked up. I do not have the first motor nemore.................so I cannot try that.........please help
Thanks Rick

Sounds like the linkage may be installed wrong.Sometimes the arm that bolts to the motor can be flipped and fit upside down or reversed. You may have to turn the wipers on with the linkage disconnected and turn them off and let them park before reattaching the linkage.
