'76 Land Cruiser Starting Problems

For about a year now, my 1976 Toyota Land Cruiser has been having issues starting. The symptoms are intermittant. They are when I try to start the car, I hear a click and that is it...no turnover. Sometimes if I hold the key in the start position, it will eventually start. It eventually starts though. I have charged the battery fully and it seems to help for a few weeks then back to this. I have cleaned the battery and starter terminals and it hasn't helped. I have checked the alternator and that was bad so I replaced it, but it didn't help. Any suggestions? I am thinking of taking the starter out and looking at it. Maybe the starter solenoid is bad. Thoughts?

Have the battery checked at a parts store they usually will check it free.

I had the battery tested before I replaced the alternator. It was fine, had the CCA it was supposed to have.
