The problem wasn't the IAC valve.

First try cleaning the throttle body and the IAC. Clean the backside of the throttle plate and the surrounding housing with carb cleaner and an old tooth brush. Also clean the ports and pintle of the IAC as good as you can. The IAC should be bolted to the side of the throttle body right around where the throttle plate is. It will have and electrical plug in it. The TPS is also in that areas so don't mistake that for the IAC.
