90 toy air cond

have 1990 toy and need to recharge system
have cans kit(old) etc everything but instructions for which input is which for later model cars
see two connectors one with red cap and one with black cap
instructions call for connecting to low pressure side to charge up
which is which assume red is danger HIGH PRESSURE SIDE
BUT YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU ASSUME

suggest having the a/c system checked over by a shop and filled by a shop as they will have the equipment to fill, and check for leaks, and check the components of the a/c system.
this car is originally equiped with r12 freon it may have been retrofitted sometime in its life to another type of refrigerant and there is a couple different ones and they each have there own specific fittings I wouldnt suggest using cap color as an indicator of which is low or high as it may be able to be screwed onto both.
