Speedometer Cable

Got an oil change today on my 1990 Acura Legend and they guy there told me this loud chirping sound that was comin outta my car might be the speedometer cable........ is this possible and if so how much would this part be?

Thanks for any help in advance.

its unlikely that the speedo cable would make a loud chirp they can make noise but it isnt usually very loud something you would have to listen for. they will only make noise while the car is moving and will usually sound like its coming from the dash. and many cars dont have speedo cables not sure if yours does or not.
could be a belt, I would get another opinion at a general repair shop.
