Geo-Metro gears are slipping

I have a '93 Geo-Metro 3 cyl. 5-spd. When in gear and giving it gas the engine revs up and the gear will not keep up. It does slowly catch up.Is it my clutch, cable or somthing else.I was driving, pushed the clutch and I felt and heard a distinct bump.Thank you

On the year car you have if the clutch is cable operated replace it when you replace the clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing and have the flywheel machined to correct the slippage problem.Pretty simple needs a clutch. If you find oil in there you may need a rear main seal for the engine also.If it's hydraulic replace the clutch master and slave while you are in there.
