Fuel Cut Out

93 Ford Escort, 1.9L, standard. Close to 200K miles, but well maintained. Had an overheating problem but never got "Too" hot. I noticed the guage going up and pulled over. Water pump was leaking so I replaced it. Now it wont start. The light comes on and says fuel cut out... What does that mean?

Inertia switch

Yes you have an "inertia switch" that cuts off fuel when the car is bumped
It's in the trunk (I think, I'll check)
You have to pull off a panel (probably marked), find the switch and pull the white button up
This should reset it

Well, I was close,
Open the trunk and remove the right side trim panel and push the red button

Did you get the timing set right after you replaced the water pump?If crankshaft or camshaft moved with timing belt off it will be out of time.
