The check engine light comes on for a reason. I would first find out why it's on, then try to fix the problem. Plugs and wires were a good start, but rarely cause the CEL to come on.

What is the year, make and model of the car, along with the milage and any work done on the car. Is the car running bad? Smoking? Using any fluids?

Autozone will sometimes read codes for you for free, but before you go and buy more parts do post what they read.

You're a bit short of info. After changing the parts did you RESET the light? It won't just go off by itself.

slumlord...

COLOR=DarkOrange]It won't just go off by itself.[/COLOR]

this isn't true...on OBD II equipped vehicles codes are eliminated from memory after 50 key cycles if no code setting criteria are met and the MIL is turned off
