mustang squeaking sounds

Welli its a 89 coupe, 5.0, trying to get it back in good shape, i notice that when i shift their is a squeak sound that comes from the rear, I can also push on the trunk part hard enough and I hear the squeak sound, sounds as if something is rubbing, I repace the vertical shocks, i have the horizontal ones but havent put them on yet, any ideas?

a few ideas

Yes, a few places to check
Because this Stang was modified for racing there may by polyurethene bushings that can squeek
You may have to stick your head under there while a trusted buddy pushes on the trunk-use the p-brake and some wheel chocks
Places to look are sway bar bushings, sway bar end links, upper and lower control arm bushings, upper and lower spring perches...that's all I can think of offhand
Unless there are some traction bars added
If any of these are squeeking you can try and lube them
If they are rubber, lithium grease is good
If they are poly, you may have to try a few diiferent things
Maybe start with lithium and see how that works

Also look for something rubbing that shouldn't be, maybe an added or modified part (aftermarket controol arm, etc.)

I didn't think Notchbacks had "Quad shocks" (horizontal)
Maybe they were added also
