EGR Woes

Help me out here with this mystery if you dare!

1988 Camaro, Vin E, 305 Throttle Body Injection

I keep getting an EGR Failure Code on my Autoxray Scanner. I've changed the EGR Valve itself, the EGR solenoid, and have ensured that the passage way is clear, as far as I can tell.

Typically, I will be driving to work in the morning...through traffic it's no problem. But when it clears up and I'm cruising at 60mph -that's when the light comes on. Then, when I shut down, it resets. I leave work, start back home, and it happens again at highway speeds.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Check your vacuum routing to be sure it is set up from the right sources and has nothing else bleeding off your vacuum from that circuit. Also check carefully that a previous know it all didn't stick a B B into the line somewhere to disable the system. Try manually triggering the vacuum solonoid with the engine idling by tapping a wire into the ground/trigger side of the solonoid and momentarily grounding it to see if the engine tries to stall. Obviously, you'll need power at the solonoid also with the key on.
