Brake repair

What is proper way to remove rear brake drums from 2003 Hyundai Elantra?

Nearly all cars with rear drums have threaded holes on the face of the drum into which you can insert long bolts. As you wind the bolts into the holes it pushes the drum off the hub. The holes may be of several thread sizes, metric or U.S., so be careful that you use the proper size; you don't want to run the wrong size bolts in and strip the threads.

Don't forget to release the parking brake.

BTW, why are you having to pull the rear drums on a one year old car???

you remove the wheelbearing nut and remove the drum and hub as an assembly for more information check the website below just select your car and click on shop for different sections of repair information such as brakes.

I defer to bejay who is more knowledgeable on that particular model. Still curious why you're pulling one on such a new car.
