Use of a 2002/03 Keyless Receiver on a 2000 Camry CE

I bought a few keyless transmitters that came with the door receiver. The part number is a 89741aa020, which is the receiver for the 2002/03 Camry. However, I am using the transmitters with a 2000 Camry. As I don't need the receiver, I was wondering whether this could be installed on a 2000 Camry CE to add keyless entry, although designed for a 2002/03 Camry?

I expect someone out there can tell me, as I have a female friend with a CE that could use keyless. The FCC ID on the transmitters is GQ43VT14T, and on the receiver is GQ43VT27R.

Can the right one be plugged in, or is wiring needed?

If I get the right keyless receiver, can I add keyless entry to a Camry CE just by plugging it in or is wire splicing needed? Where is the receiver located on a 2000 Camry.

Thanks!

The body ECU would have to be changed also. The receiver is under the radio in the front of the console. Some what of a pia to get to. The CE may not have the plug for it.

Its cost effective to go to an aftermarket system.
