87 taurus gl heater core replacement

I have the dash completely taken off and the heater core hoses off. My car has A/C though and Im not sure how to disconnect the 2 pipes going through the firewall into the A/C unit inside the car. The heater core and A/C core are in the same plastic casing and as far as I can tell you must disconnect both cores. Does anyone know what Im talking about of have a solution?

We definately know what your talking about. Those hoses have high pressure in them. You should have the refrigerant recovered by a shop before removing those lines. You can do some serious physical harm with those if your not careful. The system will have to be evacuated and recharged after reinstallation. Make sure all the doors land in the correct position when you reassemble the box.
