Question Starting 96' Jeep Cheeroke 5.2L

My Jeep has been sitting for at least 6 months because of tranny problems but i want to start it up to move it to shop. Do i need to make sure the lifters and piston cylinders are lubricated before starting? Engine was running great before i moth balled it. Thank for your help.

I would pull the spark plugs and spray some penetrating oil in each hole before turning it over just to be on the safe side
