Valve adjustment -97 Mazda Protege
I might purchase a '97 Mazda Protege w/ 50,000 miles. A little research showed the 1.5l engine to not have hydraulic lifters. What is required to adhust these? I read that shims are used. I have adjusted valves on old VW's for years and that is a simple job, but shims are not used on VW.
How do you adjust the valves on the Mazda? Any comments on that car? Anything to look for?
