Storing Truck for winter

I have a 2004 Chevy Silverado PU. Going to put it up for the winter. Will it hurt if I put a coat of wax on it with out wiping it off for the winter.

I wouldn't do that I think more dirt would lay on unpolished wax myself.Buy a sheet of plastic(very cheap)and use it as a cover. We store a 1915 Buick that way inside a garage of course. Also if it's out of the elements the wax should last indefinitely applied properly.
