Different Tire Manufacturers

I have 2 different brand snow tires I want to put on my 1999 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 this winter.
235/75/r15
The rear 2 tires are Goodyear Ultra grip
The front 2 tires are Hannook WZ something,...
Anyway, I been reading that you should use all same type tires.
Meaning: brand, amount of wear, ......
What are the reasons to use same type tire??

Cheers
JP

It is acceptable in what your doing as long as each axel has the same brand, thread, wear etc. which seems what you are doing.

The best situation is to replace all four at the same time, esp if you have abs. A necessity if it's AWD.

This way all four tires are of the same tread, rubber compound and wear.

BTW: Just cause you have the same size tire with different manufacturers dosen't mean the size is the same (the circumference)
