Automobile Seat belt problem

I have a 2000 Ford Explorer Sport. Whenever I release the seatbelt to exit the vehicle, it does not retract. I have to manually pull it for it then to retract. Is there any help for this problem?

To the best of my knowledge it will need replaced. If it malfunctions in that manner it may also malfunction in an accident situation. This is a safety issue at least ask a Ford tech to advise if it will work properly during an accident.Kudos to you for using your seatbelt.

Pull the seat belt all the way out and make sure it isn't twisted, look in as far to the reel as possible. Some times that accounts for it not retracting properly.
