1990 Buick Regal

I believe I need to replace the front and rear struts. I was wondering how hard it would be top change them and if you need any special tool? Thanks

You would need special tools for the front(Autozone may rent them)the rear can be done with hand tools but the spring pressure can make them moderatly difficult. If you decide to do the struts don't jack the car up to do the front, put wood between the strut an inner fender. They come out from under the hood.

If you would rate your skill level at low(no)medium(with a helper)high(sure why not).I will say the rear are fairly hard to do in my opinion because of the mono leaf spring. The fronts are very easy you just have to be careful when reinstalling to avoid stripping the strut housing. You don't need to compress any springs to do the job.A service manual would help you decide if it's for you to attempt.
