I have a '99 Toyota 4Runner with 2.7L engine. Tge only problem Im having with it is that the gas pedal sticks. When I say "sticks" I mean that sometimes I have to almost stomp the gas pedal to get it to go its like it just wants to stick to the top whenever im at a light and take my foot off the pedal. Is this a simple lube job or something more. Thanks.

Try this....
I would check out the throttle cable. Sounds like it may have started to fray on one end or the other.
Disconnect it from the throttle body and see if it still catches. If so the cable probally needs to be replaced. If not, look at the leakage on the throttle body to see what is binding.

Just clean the throttle plate and see what happens.Don't turn any screws just yet they are not for that type of adjustment. If the cleaning doesn't cure the problem maybe toyotaman can be of more help.Let us know what happens.
