2000 chevy s-10 4.3 liter 6 cylinder

I put in a new directional assembly in the truck, the old one was unable to shut the wipers off anymore. Since I put this in I have been unable to start the truck. The directional assembly has the wipers, blinkers, washer fluid, all as part of its make-up. The truck seems like it wants to turn over but just falls short. The fuel pump has already been changed, I am at my wits end?? Any suggestions?? Thanks

Try this, crank the engine and leave the key in the run position for about 10 minutes the security lamp should turn off.Turn the ignition off for at least 5 seconds.Do this 2 more times and the last time make sure you turn the key off.If this works the truck should now start unless you have damaged a connection during the switch replacement.Or blew a fuse so check them also.
