mazda with too much ford in it?
I am looking at at mazda 626 V-6, 5-speed with 100k+ miles.
Is either the transmission or the engine ford?
Also, does this engine have solid lifters? If so, is the adjustment procedure as easiy as that for my '67 bug?

having the year...
...would make it possible for someone to actually look up info about that car. ford and mazda have been in bed together for years and mix and match assemblies regularly.

it appears...
that the engine and trans are both mazda to me...there's no certainty using alldata...as for the valves being adjustable...yes...they are adjustable. no...they are NOT as easy as a 67 bug...few things, if any, are on modern cars. the valves are adjusted using shims and the engine is of DOHC design...further complicating the procedure.

'97 Ford Probe V6 is a mazda engine with Ford valve covers. ATX (auto trans) have a problematic history.
Same for the 626's
